Concussion terms: Concussion is a brain injury that causes a temporary loss of normal brain function.
Concussions can be caused by a direct force to the head, such as a head-to-head collision, or an indirect force to the head, such as whiplash from a body blow. Although the majority of of concussions do not result in loss of consciousness, seeing “stars” and feeling “dings” are two symptoms of a concussion.
