Video Recipe: Crispy Seasoned Chickpeas | UPMC HealthBeat

Spice up your typical snacks with these DIY crispy chickpeas. Your whole family will love these customizable, poppable snacks that are high in nutrients and low in fatty oils.

We show you three different seasonings to try.

Ingredients

  • 2 (15-ounce) cans chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 to 4 teaspoons spices of your choice

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 400 F.
  2. Rinse and drain the chickpeas.
  3. Pat dry with cloth towels and let sit for 15 minutes to dry out.
  4. Toss the chickpeas with olive oil and salt in a large bowl to coat evenly.
  5. Roast the chickpeas for 20 to 30 minutes until browned and crunchy on the outside.
  6. Toss the chickpeas with the spices of your choice.
  7. Store in jars with tightly sealed lids.
